As Gary Gragg’s youngest son, Jay was hesitant to enter the field of accounting and first gained a Bachelor of Science in Sociology with a concentration in Corrections. After a few years he determined that this was not the field for him and returned to school to try accounting. Finding it was not the black and white boring world he thought it to be, he earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a concentration in Accounting in 1993, and become a Certified Public Accountant in 1997. Jay works in all fields of the firm, but especially enjoys the financial planning and investment advisory fields. Jay is an avid collector of music and books.
Jay is married to Jennifer Gragg, who is currently working on a Masters of Social Work. They live in Shelby with their three dogs and two cats.
Jay likes to paraphrase Walter Lippmann when discussing financial planning: Someone is sitting under a tree today because someone before had the foresight to plant a tree.
